In this blog, I will focus on a leading freelancing website UpWork. So when you are seeking a job on UpWork, read the profile of the client very carefully and analyze it cautiously. There will be many types of clients. Some of them would join the site recently and there will be some old clients too. You will find following points on the profile of any client.
- Reviews
- Jobs Posted
- Open Jobs
- Active
- % Hire Rate
- $ Total Spent
- Average Hourly Paid Rate
- Member since_______
- Location
- We can know a person by the reviews of his old customers. A profile with reviews 3.5 or above is considered sober. We can also read those reviews to know the opinion of other people about that client.
- Secondly, we can see the number of jobs posted by that person and his percentage of hiring. Percentage about 60 or above than 60 is considered good. Then we can see the total money which has been spent by that client in his previous projects. It gives us the idea of the credibility of that client.
- In the next step, we can read the date of his membership. If that is an old client and he has spent a handsome amount of money in his previous projects, it will be a secure gig and your chances of securing that job will be high.
- If you observe that client is an old member of the website, and the number of jobs posted by him are very low and his reviews are also not satisfactory then don't waste your connects on that person. Just skip him and seek another good client.
- Regarding the location, clients from the third world countries with poor reviews and low hiring percentage are not a secure option.
Before applying for the job, read these points cautiously and analyze the client.
